Laughter is the best medicine!

The why, Laughter is the best medicine!

They why I understand the importance of privacy in confined spaces.

This is why I understand the importance of a holiday.

Most people are depressed or suffer from anxiety for many reasons and those that can afford to take a trip away from it all. Those that can't, hide indoors, under a duvet or simply find other means of coping.

I have recently been diagnosed with a mental health condition which, I had been prescribed with antipsychotics. Subcequently, I questioned the effectiveness of the outcomes and, results.

I had a conversation with the consultant, who asked why I would not give them a try. My answer was simply, show me a case study of people who have taken them and gone on to do great things?

I was asked to give it ago and see what happens, as what works for one, may not work for another. Great point, I said. However, why is there not an alternative?

The doctors who prescribe these medications have been trained to believe that they work in which case, there should be able to prove that they do. After so much research would have been conducted.

I was asked, what would be an alternative? My response was, well how much does it cost to house  me for a week in this hospital? How much are the antipsychotics and, how many and for how long would I have to take them? From there the equivalent option could be able to be worked out. Then, be able to provide an alternative.

It was joked that it has already cost £40.000 for a two week stay here. It was jokingly asked what I would do with that as an alternative. My response was, I would use some for a deposit on a house and then, use some to fund a world cruise/ travel for 3 months into my Design learning. At a cost of £10-15,000 and still have change. No drugs or side effects, but,

  1. Vitamin D

  2. Healthy food

  3. Exercise

  4. Better perspective

  5. Good memories and experiences

  6. A tone of research

  7. Soul and mental wellness (In theory)

The positive of happy hormones (2019, health line).

How many other people would benefit from such therapy and feel invested into? I mean, it is widely researched that dopamine is released when people are happy (Harvard,2021)! Hi What would induce that? Time away to reflect and contemplate life, who you are and where you're going.
